PAC Member Meeting

Date:
Thursday, December 8, 2011 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm

We have received a lot of positive feedback regarding last Thursday's members' meeting. If you attended, did you enjoy it? Any suggestions? Email us and let us know.

We tweeted throughout to share with members across the country. Check out @Patientsassocca to read some tweets.

We began at 6:30 PM by introducing PAC and its projects to new members. PAC president Sholom Glouberman briefly outlined why there is a need for a patients' association and why patients and the patient perspective must be involved in the healthcare system.

The co-consulting activity began shortly after and ended at 8:15 PM. Below are some notes and highlights:

  • It was an interesting learning experience for attendees
  • It felt comfortable to express a personal story in small groups
  • It produced richer, more robust stories with greater conclusions
  • Allot more time for the group discussion at the end
  • Provide a stronger introduction to the process

Recurring issues gathered from sharing patient narratives:

  • Patient anxiety
  • Patient partnership
  • Feelings of abandonment after leaving hospital setting
